On the 7th May 2017 our second annual Broughton Cycling Group Sportive. Celebrating Milton Keynes’ 50th Birthday as the Official Sportive for MK50.
Over 270 riders had the choice to ride either our Classic 50-mile or the Epic 75-mile routes. Each taking in the stunning villages and hamlets surrounding Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.
This was a charity event in aid to support the amazing work of the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. All £4,400 profit from this event wen't directly to Thames Valley Air Ambulance, BCG also made an additional £400 donation to make the final total £4,800.
Starting and finishing at the Brooklands Farm Primary School - Countess Way Campus, Milton Keynes where all ride finishers received a medal for their fantastic acheivement.
To celebrate we threw a huge party for the local community where we had food and drink stands (incl. pizza, burgers and cakes), bouncy castles, assault course, urban safari, climbing wall and circus skills training. Our sponsors Chaineys Cycles were there on hand to offer any bike maintenance or repairs throughout the day.
We would like to again thank everyone who made this possible particularly the partcipating cyclists, volunteers, our club sponsors, MK Community Foundation, Broughton & Brooklands Community Connectors, Brooklands Farm Primary School and Thames Valley Police.
Broughton Cycling Group is a community led group, with the drive to bring people together through cycling.
